From my Quiet Time

From my Quiet Time

Occasional posts from my journalling with God and His Word.

Genesis 4: 7 “…. Sin is crouching at your door; It desires to have you, but you must master it.”

James 1:15 “….. And sin, when it is full grown, gives birth to death.”

Ephesians 5: 11 “have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”

-Holiness Is My priority for My people in these dark days, My child. Guard your heart, for evil comes in subtle ways. Be aware of My indwelling presence. Refer to Me throughout the day. If you are conscious of Me, My Holy Spirit will warn you.

Lord, Your universe is so vast, yet You came to be with us — and all you have created -the tiniest insect is made with infinite perfection.

– I am the God of the small as well as the great. I am impartial. You cannot discern, always, what is great and what is small, but I see the beginning from the end. An apparently small thing may have great consequences — either way; for good or evil. That is why obedience to Me is so important.

Haggai 2: 6, 7

“’In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations and the desires of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory’ says the Lord almighty.”

— I am preparing My bride. I will fill My house with glory. Make yourself ready. I am doing a new thing. Behold! A new thing. Expect the unexpected. Do not hold onto any preconceived ideas of how I will work. My ways are not your ways. Neither will they necessarily be the ways I worked before. Be ready for a new thing. And in any new happening look for Me. Do not look in the nations. Look for Me. In all that happens ask, “What are you doing, Lord? What must I see? Show me Your paths. Teach me Your ways.” and you will see great and marvelous things, but not like you expected.

Isaiah 33:14-16

Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire?

Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?

He who walks righteously and speaks what is right ….  His bread will be supplied and water will not fail him.”

  • I want you to have it imprinted on your heart, My child, that I will provide for My faithful people in every circumstance. Even in the midst of My judgement, and in the midst of persecution, I will provide. You will never lack what you need. I am looking for faithful people who will lean on Me.

God supreme above all things

Psalm 113:5

“Who is like the Lord our God who dwells on high; who humbles Himself to behold all things that are in the heavens and in the earth.”

–Even the things in the heavens are way below You, my God, that You must humble Yourself to behold them.

— Therefore, if you look to Me in all things you need never fear, David. I am always with you with My wisdom, My power, My love and My grace. Though the earth tremble beneath your feet, I will lift you up.

God’s provision in the midst of darkness

Isaiah 42:15,16

“I will lay waste the mountains and hills and dry up all their vegetation; I will turn rivers into islands and dry up the pools. I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them: In the midst of devastation caused by people who forsake Me and go their own way trusting in themselves and their false gods, I will be with those who look to Me. Though the paths may be unfamiliar and you feel you’re walking blindly, I will lead you.

In the midst of darkness, though you cannot see your way ahead, you will know My guiding hand. I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rought places smooth.” Though all is dark, you will be enlightened, knowing that I am the God of the history of nations but also the God of your own personal history. Live for Me and I will be alive in you. Disaster and revival will walk hand in hand.

God of over-arching glory and personal intimacy.

Isaiah 57:15 “I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”

We tend to think of greatness as being high and mighty, unapproachable save on our knees. This is how we approach our monarchs and great leaders, and what they expect.

Yet You, my Lord demonstrate a far higher greatness in that, in spite of your splendour which demands awe and wonder, You come alongside the contrite and humble. This is what You did, Jesus, and still do. How very very great is that, that the Creator of heaven and earth should enter this tiny planet, should note the fall of every sparrow, number the hairs on the head of every person and draw alongside the contrite and lowly in fellowship? Such greatness, who can fathom?

Nothing gives Me greater pleasure, My child, than to have My children spend time with Me, to sense My heart for those who are hurting and to come alongside them as I do. Join Me, please, in expressing My love. Do it for Me. Keep your eyes fixed on Me. If you stay in fellowship with Me, I will lead you.

Revival in the midst of persecution

Micah 1:3

“For behold, the Lord is coming out of His place. He will come down and tread on the high places of the earth.”

Prepare the way, David. Get ready for revival. It will come in the midst of persecution. I will demolish the high places in the hearts of men that cause them to strut and mock. In all my ways I am loving. I demolish the high places so that they can see My glory. It is their pride and arrogance that blinds them to My glory, so I will humble them, pulling down their high places, making them receptive to My voice
