Cruelly thrust upon His brow<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its deeply penetrating thorns <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transfixed a crown\nthat spoke to all<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of mocking and of\nscorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The men he loved in\nsilence stared<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To see the crown,\nthe nails, the gore<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their Saviour\nstripped of everything<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save thorns upon His\nbrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Dear God in\nheaven, He’s Your Son<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See what they’ve\ndone. Come, take Him down”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From heav’n the\nanswer clearly comes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Behold His\nkingly crown.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though signifying\ncruelty<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To all who saw the\nspiny ring<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All heaven bowed as\nJesus was<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Declared the King of\nKings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The King of Love’s\nvictorious<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s what the\ncrown of thorns proclaims<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His grace and pure\nhumility<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gives Him the right\nto reign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet none of Jesus’\nfollowers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Could see that at\nthat cruel time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heavenly plan\nwas hidden then<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They only saw the\ncrime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So when there is\ncatastrophe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And all around seems\ndark and grim<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember God sees\ndifferently<\/p>\n\n\n\n
